We are a diverse and interesting group of people, committed to improving our personal communication skills. We have always welcomed guests and have been quick to offer help and encouragement to new members. Over the past several years the West End Toastmasters Club has maintained its hallmark friendly club character.

West End Toastmasters started out in Stittsville in 1997 and was founded by Nita Bradley, Liane Craig, Henry Daly, Sharon Hobson, and Beth Sweetnam. The club chartered in February of 1998.

The original executive board was led by our first President Sharon Hobson with Lynne Fennell as VP of Education, Treasurer Marian Corak, VP Public Relations Valerie Converse, Secretary Chris Anastasiadis, VP Membership Blake Ross and SAA Jan Harvie.

Increasing space requirements and location (location, location) led West End Toastmasters through several homes in past years, moving first to the Best Western Hotel and Robertson House in Bells Corners. The club then moved to the Glen Cairn United Church on Abbey Hill for 2 years, followed by the Hazeldean Library, then the Kanata Police Station and finally, in 2002, settling into a wonderful new facility, the Kanata Seniors Centre (part of the John Mlacak Centre off Campeau Road.)
